Shortly after hearing the flood prediction was raised to 41 feet, they said it would actually get to 41.5 or 42 ft! We decided at that point we better get stuff out of the basement ... so we did. Every last item from the Skaff's basement is now stashed in some other room in the house. Then they called for evacuation of our neighborhood ... and then forced all the volunteers to leave! So now we are on our own. But we just kept on working.

At the moment things seem to be looking up. The river is currently at 40.81 feet and suppose to crest at 42 ft by Sunday. Our walls are built to 43 ft, and are currently holding. Once the river crests it could stay that high for 4-8 days. So at this point we are constantly monitoring the walls for spots where the water is seeping through. We have sump pumps in those spots and are pumping the water back. We are taking turns with the neighbors through the night to keep constant watch over the walls and the pumps.
This is an exhausting process, and far from over. Please pray for continued strength and patience. A good nights sleep would also be greatly appreciated! We have not had one in some time.

Hang in there - summer fun is just around the corner!

Thank you for the prayers and encouragement, Shelley! Things are going ok at the moment. We're just constantly keeping an eye on the walls & pumps, and hoping the river doesn't go back up!
Definitely looking forward to summer! Especially since we're suppose to get another snow storm on Monday!
